On June 12, 1987, the president of the United States of America, Ronald Reagan gave the famous speech “Tear down this barrier” in Berlin, Germany. Reagan wanted freedom for the people of the Eastern Bloc. I still remember when Reagan challenged Gorbachev, leader of the Soviet Union with those famous words. “Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”. The barrier separating the Eastern Bloc, was torn down. The barrier that separates the United States and Mexico will also be demolished! The biggest problem I face as a teacher is to break down the barriers that each of you have constructed in their minds that stop to succeed in their lives. In the past there were many philosophers who meet and discuss their thoughts, most of them were unemployed, giving them plenty of time to think about life’s mysteries.

Some of the most famous as Plato and Socrates were very playful, they could fool people with his witty questions. They were very effective when trying to make people see things from a different viewpoint. I guess that’s why I love the study of philosophy and philosophers, they help you see and think about things from a different point of view. With this in mind take a moment to talk philosophy. Although I’m about to tell what has little to do with real estate, has a lot to do with how you do things and realize all the things you want in your life.

Most of us prefer to see things one way and thus create a single “reality” or a controlled environment in which we base our decisions. The truth is that there are many different situations and environments. Sometimes you need to get out of our reality or environment in order to find solutions to problems and to achieve the goals we pursue in life. I guess this is like going to the library to read a book to try to learn something new.
