The grant that funded the SPORE Patient Advocate Research Team (PART) ended in November 2007, but many PART teams continue to function at individual SPOREs across the country. A summary of the PART Program was produced, and is available here. In addition, patient advocates are invited to join PAIR: Patient Advocates In Research. A PAIR information sheet gives an overview of this international network. You can also sign up for the PAIR email list by contacting Deborah Collyar, President of PAIR, at collyar@att.net. The PART Program has developed a customizable workshop in conjunction with the University of Arizona GI SPORE that establishes a dialog about clinical trials and advocacy with special communities. Information on how to develop and implement the Clinical Trials & People workshop is *now available* for all SPOREs and Cancer Centers. More information about the workshop is listed in this article.
